Ranchi Municipal Corporation investigated frozen water in 344 houses, dengue larvae found in 58.

Ranchi: In view of the increasing outbreak of dengue and chikungunya in the capital, on Wednesday the team of Municipal Corporation and Health Department examined the stagnant water in 344 houses of 10 localities of the city. Dengue larvae were found in 58 of them. After this the surveillance team sprayed chemicals to destroy the larvae. During this, the corporation employees appealed to the people not to allow water to accumulate in the house, roof and courtyard. Because, dengue larvae thrive only in clean water.

Fogging campaign intensified:

In view of the increasing outbreak of dengue and chikungunya, fogging was done by the Municipal Corporation on Wednesday from Aarey to Dhurva to Bariatu Road. Fogging was done with anti smog guns from Booti Mod to Dhurwa via Bariatu Road, Raj Bhavan. Whereas, fogging was done with small vehicles in Kishoreganj, Kadru, Ashok Nagar, Doranda, Hindpiri, Edalhatu, Kokar, Cheshire Home Road, Aryapuri and Indrapuri. Wherever there was water logging on the roadside, chemicals were sprayed there. During this period, corporation workers also distributed pamphlets among the people to prevent dengue and chikungunya. People were appealed to use mosquito nets.

Four new dengue patients admitted in Sadar Hospital, number increased to 39:

The dengue outbreak in the capital is showing no sign of stopping. The dengue ward with a capacity of 30 beds in Sadar Hospital is full. Four new patients were admitted here on Wednesday. With this the number of dengue patients has increased to 39. Due to lack of beds, eight young patients have to be shifted to the pediatric ward for treatment.
