Ranchi: Khadi fair concludes, sales worth Rs 2.5 crore, Governor CP Radhakrishnan awards best stalls

Ranchi: National Khadi and Saras Mahotsav 2023-24 concluded on Friday. It was organized at Morhabadi ground in Ranchi. Governor of Jharkhand at the closing ceremony CP Radhakrishnan Said that Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi had said that India can be developed only through Khadi and village industries. He took the movement forward by making Swadeshi and Khadi a strength. Today, it is because of the power of Khadi that employment opportunities are becoming available to the rural people. Jharkhand State Khadi and Village Industries Board is making very good efforts and Jharkhand State Khadi and Village Industries Board deserves thanks for this initiative. Here the stall holders not only showcased their crafts, their art, their products but also enriched our culture through the Khadi Mahotsav. A total of 300 stalls were set up in the National Khadi and Saras Mahotsav. Among these, the best stalls were honored by the Governor. Johar Emporium Ratu Road got first place. Rakhal Chandra Besra, CEO of Jharkhand State Khadi and Village Industries Board, said that Rs 2.5 crore were sold in the Khadi fair.

Adopt Khadi in daily life

Jharkhand Governor CP Radhakrishnan while appealing to the people of the country said that I appeal to all the people to adopt Khadi in their daily life, so that our weavers can get financial help. Ever since the Prime Minister of our country Narendra Modi has become the brand ambassador of Khadi, Khadi clothes have got a new identity and new heights.

There were 300 stalls in the Khadi fair.

A total of 300 stalls were set up in the National Khadi and Saras Mahotsav 2023-24. Among these, the best stalls were honored by the Governor. First place went to Johar Emporium Ratu Road. Santhal Pargana Village Industries Committee Deoghar got second place and Tribal Caste Overall Development Council Angad Ranchi got third place. A total of 57 stalls were set up in the Government Stall and Prime Minister Employment Generation. Shivika Shilpakala Cooperative Cooperative Society Limited, Bundu Ranchi got the first place. Second place went to Art and Jute Doranda Ranchi. Gujarati Handicraft Kishoreganj Ranchi got the third place. Lakshmi Shree Mahila Samiti Namkum Ranchi got the first place in the Rural Development Department. Amar Divyang Mahila Samiti, Ramgarh got the second place. Third place went to Sunflower Livelihood Sakhi Mandal Pakur. A total of 32 food stalls were set up. Palash Aajeevika Didi Cafe got the first place. Ganesh Lakshmi Catering Group Nagari Ranchi got second place and Bhola Kevat Chutiya Ranchi got third place for Bihari cuisine Litti.

Sales worth about Rs 2.5 crore made in 300 stalls

Jharkhand State Khadi and Village Industries Board CEO Rakhal Chandra Besra said that the National Khadi and Saras Mahotsav 2023-24 was sold with a record crowd. This year, a total of 300 stalls were set up in 8 sections in the Khadi Mahotsav. In this, 120 stalls belonged to Saras. This time the hangar was named after the major fabrics of Jharkhand. Sales worth approximately Rs 2.5 crore were made in this fair which ran from January 6 to January 12. In this, Jharkhand State Khadi and Village Industries Board sold 7 lakhs, Khadi stalls sold 25 lakhs, Saras stalls sold about 71 lakhs. Apart from this, PMEGP, SME, Artisan, DCH made sales of Rs 1 crore 30 lakh. The food court sold Rs 6 lakh and the open area sold Rs 10 lakh.
