Ranchi: Hatia Project Workers Union separated from HEC Sangharsh Morcha

Ranchi: Ideological differences have started emerging in the HEC Sangharsh Morcha regarding the workers’ movement. Hatia Project Workers Union has separated itself from the Morcha. On Sunday, a meeting of officials of Hatia Project Workers Union (INTUC) was held in the union office under the chairmanship of General Secretary Rana Sangram Singh. In this the current situation of HEC was discussed. Rana Sangram Singh said that to protect the future of HEC and the employees, INTUC will no longer be a part of the Morcha of HEC labor organizations and will not participate in any activity. He said that some people involved in the Morcha are taking the movement in the wrong direction. The strike has been going on for 25 days. Work in HEC has come to a standstill. Talks have been held with the management thrice, but every time the movement is being continued by putting up some hurdle or the other.

The union appealed to the workers to end the strike and return to work.

Whereas, the management is repeatedly saying that the factory and office will open, only then we can arrange funds from Rourkela, NTPC, L&T, Jharkhand Government, NCL by sending someone. Shri Rana said that INTUC believes in running HEC. The process of issuing tender for salary payment of workers, promotion and extension of supply workers from September 2023 to February 2024 and reinstatement of contractors for the new tenure is to start. INTUC opposes those who have high jacked the strike in HEC. He has appealed to the employees that all the demands will be fulfilled only when the company will run. He said that as soon as the office opens, the contractor will issue the restoration contract and will make the ESI payment as soon as the money is received. He appealed to all the employees to return to work. Leeladhar Singh, Girish Chauhan, Dilip Kumar Singh, Jagannath Ram, Dilip, Naushad Ansari, Vijay Singh, Awadhesh Singh, Bhola Sao, CS Das etc. were present in the meeting.

Tata-Hatia Express will run on changed route on 12, 15 and 16 February

18601 Tatanagar-Hatia Express running from Tatanagar to Hatia will run on changed route for three days on 12th, 15th and 16th February. This train will run through the changed route Chandil-Gunda, Bihar-Muri route. Whereas on 13 February, 08174/08652 Tatanagar-Asansol-Barabhum MEMU special, on 12 and 15 February, 18035/18036 Kharagpur-Hatiya-Kharagpur Express and on 15 February, 03594/03593 Asansol-Purulia-Asansol special train will run short terminated at Adra station. . South Railway has taken this decision in view of the development work in Adra Railway Division.

Two pairs of MEMU trains will remain cancelled.

08644/08643 Asansol-Adra-Asansol Memu on 15th and 17th February.

08665/08666 Bhojudih-Chandrapura-Bhojudih MEMU on 16th February.
