Ranchi: Fire breaks out in house and shop on main road, elderly man saved life

A fire broke out in the house and shop of Nandlal Vishwakarma, a resident of Hindpiri police station area, at eight o’clock on Monday night. At that time, old man Nandlal, who was sleeping in the house, was taken out by the neighbours. The furniture shop located next to his house also caught fire. Fire brigade personnel reached the spot and tried to extinguish the fire. However, by then the furniture kept in the shop and many items kept in Nandlal’s house were burnt. The jewelery kept in the house also got damaged in this. After the fire incident, the road from Acra Masjid Chowk to Daily Market was made one-way. Nandlal’s house is near the Bajrangbali temple located opposite the Gurudwara on the main road of Ranchi. Many shops including Kailash Crockery next to the house narrowly escaped the fire. Nandlal Vishwakarma told that many items including plastic were thrown in front of the shop. It is possible that a spark of fire from somewhere touched the plastic and then after touching the thermocol, the fire spread. However, his wife and daughter-in-law have expressed apprehension that mischievous elements may have set the fire. On the other hand, the fire brigade reached near the Gurudwara, but due to the narrow lane, the fire brigade had to struggle for 20-25 minutes to reach the spot. How the fire broke out could not be revealed till the time of writing the news.

Fire broke out in a pile of fruit carats in Hindpiri

Hindpeedhi A pile of fruit carats kept in an empty space in front of Lakshmi Apartment, located between Mantu Chowk and Banshi Chowk in the police station area, caught fire on Monday. It is said that Mohammad Sabir keeps carats here. It is suspected that the plastic carat caught fire due to a spark and the flames started spreading rapidly. Seeing the high flames of fire, nearby people came out of their houses and apartments and came onto the road. The local people first tried to extinguish the fire by taking water in buckets and boxes. When the fire did not go out, the fire brigade was informed. On receiving information about the incident, Hindpiri and Daily Market police station in-charge also reached Sadal Bal.
