Ranchi: The main road of Jharkhand’s capital Ranchi was colored in the colors of Sarhul on Thursday. The fragrance of Sakhua flowers is spread all around the city of Ranchi which is covered with Sarna flags. For the tribal community, speaking is music and walking is dance. On the occasion of Sarhul, everyone was seen dancing to the beats of Maander.
The tableaux coming out from all the Akhara committees of the capital Ranchi passed through the main road only. During this, the people of the capital saw the exhibition of about 150 tableaux. Every tableau appeared in a different style. While women were seen in red border sarees, men were seen in traditional costumes.
This time the youth also gave a touch of modernity to the traditional clothes. Since in this festival, along with the worship of nature, dance also has special importance. In such a situation, every tableau seen on the main road enthralled the people with its dance.
For the tribal community, Sarhul festival reflects their love for nature. In such a situation, this year the procession of Sarhul was seen colored in the colors of nature. The vehicles from which the procession tableaux were taken out were decorated with leaves. Which was giving the message that the tribal society is still connected to nature.
There is an interdependent relationship between tribal society and nature. They cannot be separated from each other. A large number of people also held bows, arrows and plows in their hands. While bow and arrow and plow are considered a symbol of revolution, plow is also seen as a symbol of farming.
Along with love for nature, a glimpse of the demand for Sarna Dharma Code was also seen in the procession. In the procession taken out by Bandhgadi Sarna Samiti, the Sarna religious code was shown as the main need of the tribals. This year, the prediction of more rain made by Pahan after the puja will prove to be equally beneficial for agriculture.
A large crowd of Ranchi residents were seen gathering on the main road to watch the procession of Sarhul. People were seen standing in queue for hours to watch the procession of Sarhul in the middle of the main road.
In view of the Sarhul procession, the movement of vehicles on the main road was completely banned from 2 pm onwards. Security arrangements were tightened. ADM Law and Order, City SP, DSP and other administrative officers were seen to monitor.
A large number of police forces were deployed to maintain law and order on the occasion of Sarhul festival. On this festival, many leaders including Ranchi MLA CP Singh, Subodh Kant Sahay, JMM Central General Secretary Supriyo Bhattacharya were present on the stage of Ranchi Central Sarna Committee.
On the occasion of nature festival Sarhul, there was enthusiasm among men, women and children. During this period, movement of normal vehicles remained closed on the routes going from SSP Awas Chowk, Kachari Chowk to Kachari Chowk.
