Ranchi: BIT Mesra will prepare test bench setup

Ranchi: MoU signed between BIT Mesra and Eastern Regional Load Despatch Center of Union Ministry of Power. Now both the institutes together will prepare the setup of a test bench, which will work to balance the shortfall of power generation through batteries. Through this the functioning and reaction of the battery will be studied. Dr T Ghosh, HOD of Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department, said that emphasis is being placed on renewable energy in the country. Its objective is to achieve the target of net zero emissions in the country by 2070. Earlier, electricity was produced as per requirement.

Whereas, for renewable energy there was a need to depend on a certain season. He said that if the production and supply of electricity is not uniform, it affects the frequency and voltage. He said that the certainty of electricity production through renewable energy sources has not been decided yet. Through research, it is possible to supply energy through precise use of batteries, for this it will be necessary to manufacture batteries with high capacity.
