Rajya Sabha Election: All six candidates of Bihar will be elected unopposed, know how many votes are required to win.

Patna. Candidates of all parties will be elected unopposed in the biennial elections being held for six Rajya Sabha seats in Bihar. The last date for nomination is Thursday. On Wednesday, Dr. Bhim Singh and Dharamsheela Gupta from BJP, Sanjay Kumar Jha from JDU and Dr. Akhilesh Prasad Singh from Congress filed their nomination forms. Both the authorized candidates of RJD will file their nominations on Thursday. If no one else files nomination by 3 pm on Thursday, then on Tuesday 20th February, the day of withdrawal of nominations, the candidates of all parties will be declared elected unopposed. When elections come, voting will take place on 27th February. The possibility of which seems very less at present.

BJP gains one seat, JDU loses one

In the elections being held for six seats, BJP has gained one seat. At the same time, JDU is losing one seat. The tenure of two current JDU Rajya Sabha members Vashishtha Narayan Singh and Anil Hegde is completing in April. At the same time, the tenure of former Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi in BJP will end. The current tenure of Congress State President Dr. Akhilesh Prasad Singh will also end in April. The party has given him the opportunity to make him a candidate for the second time.

For the victory of a candidate, votes of 35 MLAs will be necessary.

According to the numerical strength of the Assembly, a candidate will need the votes of 35 MLAs to win. BJP has two candidates, they will need the votes of 70 MLAs, whereas it has 78 MLAs. At the same time, for the victory of JDU’s Sanjay Jha, votes of 35 MLAs will be required. Whereas JDU has 45 MLAs. At the same time, RJD also has six surplus votes. For the victory of the Congress candidate, apart from its 19 MLAs, the votes of at least 10 out of the 16 MLAs of the Left parties and the surplus six of RJD will be required.

No scope for seventh candidate

There does not seem to be any scope for a seventh candidate from Bihar for the Rajya Sabha elections. According to the provisions, a candidate will need the support of at least 10 MLAs at the time of nomination. But, after the voting of party candidates, no party has so many votes available.

Tejashwi Yadav’s advisor Sanjay Yadav will reach Rajya Sabha for the first time

RJD has declared its national spokesperson Prof. Manoj Kumar Jha and Sanjay Kumar Yadav as candidates for Rajya Sabha biennial elections 2024. RJD state president Jagdanand Singh has made this official announcement on Wednesday. This announcement has been made after discussions between RJD National President Lalu Prasad and former Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav. Both RJD leaders will file nomination for Rajya Sabha on February 15. RJD’s national spokesperson Manoj Jha is being sent to Rajya Sabha for the second time. Whereas Sanjay Yadav is nominated for Rajya Sabha for the first time. Before this, he had been working as an advisor to RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav. However, he has been made a member of the coordination committee of the recently formed Alliance India.

Sanjay Jha nominated in three sets, while Bhim Singh, Dharamsheela Gupta and Akhilesh Prasad Singh nominated in two sets each.

Elections for six Rajya Sabha seats in Bihar are to be held on February 27. For this, Bhim Singh and Dr. Dharamsheela Gupta from BJP and Sanjay Jha from JDU filed nomination for Rajya Sabha in the Assembly Secretary’s chamber on Wednesday. Whereas, Akhilesh Prasad Singh has filed nomination from Congress. Along with Akhilesh Prasad Singh of Congress, senior Congress leader Tariq Anwar, legislature party leader Shakeel Ahmed Khan, Ajit Sharma, Sanjay Kumar Tiwari, former state president Madan Mohan Jha and ML MLA Mehboob Alam etc. were present.

BJP’s Dharamsheela Gupta and RJD’s Sanjay Yadav have not been members of any house till date.

All three NDA candidates have filed nomination for the Rajya Sabha elections for the first time. BJP’s Dharamsheela Gupta has not been a member of any house. Party gave up Rajya Sabha seat for alliance: Dipankar

CPI(ML) General Secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya said in a press conference on Wednesday that the final decision on seat sharing regarding the Lok Sabha elections will be taken soon. CPI(ML)’s claim will increase by five seats.
