Rajya Sabha Election 2024: All seven BJP candidates will file nomination today, party may field 8th candidate

Seven candidates of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will file nomination for Rajya Sabha elections today. All the party candidates have reached Lucknow on Tuesday evening. Party’s State General Secretary Govind Narayan Shukla said that Sudhanshu Trivedi, RPN Singh, Amarpal Maurya, Tejveer Singh, Naveen Jain, Sadhna Singh and Sangeeta Balwant Bind will meet on Wednesday i.e. on the day of Basant Panchami under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and State President Bhupendra Singh Choudhary. Will file nomination. On this occasion, government ministers and party officials including Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak will also be present.

BJP may field eighth candidate

Jaya Bachchan, Alok Ranjan and Ramji Lal Suman have filed nominations from Samajwadi Party. After which, amidst the ongoing tussle with the allies of Samajwadi Party, BJP can field the eighth candidate in the Rajya Sabha elections. After RLD joining NDA, BJP’s numerical strength has increased. On the other hand, SP MLA Pallavi Patel has announced not to vote. He said that there should be participation of backward people, Dalits and minorities in the party. When we are talking about taking their votes, we are not able to honestly ensure their participation. Therefore, I am not going to participate in this deception. Samajwadi Party is very important and in confusion. BJP has got inkling that some other SP MLAs may also rebel. In such a situation, BJP has started working on the possibility of fielding an eighth candidate. This issue will be discussed with party state president Bhupendra Chaudhary and election in-charge Baijayant Panda on Wednesday.
