Rajgir Festival: Preparations for the three-day Rajgir Mahotsav starting from 30th November are being done on war footing. This function, to be held on December 2, will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on November 30. This time many artists including Javed Ali, Aishwarya Nigam are participating in this festival. There will be a hangar, theater at the festival site and stalls for other schemes including book fair, agricultural fair, cuisine fair, industry fair in Gram Shree Fair, which is being constructed at a fast pace.
Rajgir Mahotsav happens every year
Rajgir, a world famous city for its natural Sanskrit and archaeological excellence since ancient times, is very popular among the tourists. Tourists from all over the world come here to complete their cultural and heritage journey. Every year, a wonderful three-day Rajgir Mahotsav and seven-day Gram Shree Fair is organized in Rajgir with the help of the Tourism Department and the District Administration. Bollywood artists will perform in the Rajgir Mahotsav.
The main objective of Rajgir Mahotsav is to put the culture, heritage and tourism of Rajgir and Nalanda on the global map. During this period, along with many famous artists, local artists also perform. This time the artists have been selected by the Tourism Department for the festival. On the first day of the festival, Hindi film playback singer Aishwarya Nigam and folk singer Deepali Sahay will grace the festival. At the same time, Bollywood’s famous play back singer Javed Ali will tickle the audience on December 1. On the last day of the festival, famous Bollywood musician and lyricist Vishal Bhardwaj will perform the magic of his singing on the audience. Apart from this, local artists will also be given an opportunity to showcase their talent on the stage of the festival.
Many competitions are being organized
During this festival, many competitions are being organized by the district administration. Not only Rajgir, but the district is busy preparing to win the competition. There is talk of preparations for festivals and competitions everywhere in the city. The morale of the participants is high. Everyone is preparing to win the award. Be it the various programs of Mahila Mahotsav or other competitions including building decoration, tanga decoration, palanquin decoration, painting, rangoli, athletics. Wrestlers from different states will take part in the dangal.
Apart from the district and Bihar, wrestlers from Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Delhi, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana etc. will participate in the famous Dangal competition of Rajgir. Invitations have been sent to invite him. The specialty of the Dangal is that like the men, a Dangal will also be organized for women wrestlers.
Street drama also organized
Street plays will be performed against social evils. Apart from the children of Chakrapani Residential School, students of dozens of schools are trying tirelessly to win the prize in the yoga competition. Preparations for competitions like painting and rangoli etc. are being done by dozens of schools in the district including Kasturba Gandhi Residential School.

A separate two-day women’s festival will be organized on the occasion of the festival. Its preparation is being done from the departmental level to the common and special women of the city. The Women’s Festival to be held on December 1st and 2nd will be organized at the Circus Ground near Gaurakshani. Gayatri Kumari, Assistant Director, Social Security Cell, coordinator of the program, said that this time’s Women’s Festival will be memorable. School-college girls also Will participate in women’s festival
Gayatri Kumari told that the DEO has sent correspondence to school-college girls to participate in the festival. Rangoli competition is to be organized on 1st December. Girl students from class 8th to 12th of government and private schools are allowed to participate in this competition. The painting competition is also scheduled to be held on December 1st. Girls students from class 8th to 12th of government and private schools will also be able to participate in this competition. Girls students of classes 8th to 12th from government and private schools will also participate in the quiz and henna competition. Any girl student and woman can participate in the spoon race. There is no restriction in this competition.
Fashion show will also be organized
On December 2, the second day of Mahila Mahotsav, a fashion show competition will be organized at the Circus Ground itself. Intermediate and graduate level girl students from government and private schools will be allowed to participate in this competition. In this competition, two girl students from plus two school and college will be participating, one in interstate traditional attire and one in different cultural dance. Antakshari and musical chair competitions will also be organized on the same day. Apart from the girl students participating in various competitions, women will also participate in this event.
Rajgir Mahotsav has been going on for 37 years
