Rajasthan: Unknown disease spread in Barmer, 70 people affected, administration alert


Rajasthan Viral Disease: More than 70 people fell ill due to an unknown viral disease in Rajasthan’s Barmer district. The officials informed about this today. He told that in view of this the administration has been alerted. He told that about 40 people are undergoing treatment at Barmer District Hospital and about a dozen have been referred to Jodhpur for treatment.

About 70 to 80 people sick

Barmer’s Chief Medical and Health Officer Chandrashekhar Gurjar told that – about 70 to 80 people have become ill. Some of them have dengue while, others have viral disease. The blood samples have been sent for medical examination after which something concrete can be said. He told- Our teams are continuously monitoring the situation for the last five-six days. None of the patients is serious and we will control the situation in a day or two.

Complaints of dengue fever and abdominal pain

According to the health department, a disease spread in Tirsingi village of Barmer district where people complained of dengue-like fever and abdominal pain. Barmer MLA Mevaram Jain also reached the district hospital today to meet the sick patients and take stock of the situation from the health department personnel. Talking to reporters, MLA Jain said – I have given instructions to send a special team to the village to understand the cause of the disease. We are making efforts to control the situation and prevent the spread of the disease. He said- Medical examination is being done in the village to find out whether it is dengue, covid or any other disease.
