Rajasthan: Malinga lost in the elections, 3 leaders who left Congress and joined BJP were defeated.

Rajasthan Election Result: Just before the Rajasthan Assembly elections, three leaders who left Congress and joined BJP and contested the elections on its ticket had to face defeat. In this, the outgoing Congress MLA from Bari Girraj Singh Malinga Are included. In Bari assembly seat, Malinga was defeated by Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) candidate Jaswant Singh Gurjar by a margin of 27,424 votes. Gurjar got 1,06,060 votes and was declared the winner.

Malinga accused of beating engineer

It is noteworthy that Malinga had joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) shortly before Congress announced the ticket for Bari seat and was made its candidate. Malinga is accused of beating a Dalit engineer of the electricity department in Bari who has been bedridden for a year. Many Congress leaders and Dalit organizations including Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge had criticized giving ticket to Malinga.

Jyoti Mirdha lost from Nagaur assembly

Similarly, former Congress MP Jyoti Mirdha also joined BJP and contested elections from Nagaur assembly seat. She lost to her Congress rival Harendra Mirdha by a margin of 14,620 votes. Shivcharan Singh Kushwaha, who had contested the 2018 assembly elections as a Congress candidate from Dholpur seat, had joined the BJP and got the ticket. He was defeated by Congress candidate Shobharani Kushwaha.

Shobharani expelled from BJP due to ‘cross voting’

It is noteworthy that Shobharani, the outgoing MLA from Dholpur, was expelled from BJP due to ‘cross voting’ in the Rajya Sabha elections last year. This time Congress had given him the ticket. He won the seat by a margin of 16,789 votes. At the same time, Vikas Choudhary, who came to Congress from BJP, won the Kishangarh seat. BJP did not give ticket to Vikas and fielded Ajmer MP Bhagirath Chaudhary from Kishangarh. Vikas Chaudhary defeated independent candidate Suresh Tak by 3,620 votes. MP Bhagirath stood third.
