Rajasthan Elections 2023: Will Sachin Pilot not get the benefit of CM face?

Jaipur : The party has fielded Congress leader and former Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan Sachin Pilot from Tonk assembly seat. In comparison to him, BJP has given ticket to Ajit Singh Mehta. Sachin Pilot is facing local versus external issue on this seat. Taking aim at this seat, BJP candidate Ajit Singh Mehta said that Sachin Pilot will not be able to get the benefit of the Chief Minister’s face. Recently, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot had commented that the post is not leaving him. Quoting Gehlot’s statement, BJP candidate Ajit Singh Mehta claimed that in this election, Sachin Pilot will not be able to get the benefit of the post of Chief Minister, as he got in 2018.

Ajit Singh Mehta has been the MLA of Tonk from 2013 to 2018.

Let us tell you that BJP candidate Ajit Singh Mehta has represented this constituency from 2013 to 2018. BJP has given him the responsibility of contesting from former Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Pilot, who had won from here in 2018 by a record margin of more than 54 thousand votes over his BJP rival Yunus Khan. Mehta is presenting it as a fight between locals versus outsiders. He has claimed that he is a Tonk resident who knows the problems of the people, while Pilot is an outsider who had won big last time by taking advantage of being the face of the chief ministerial post.

Choice of local vs outsider

During the election campaign in Sankhana village of Tonk assembly constituency, Ajit Mehta said that the most important thing is that the election is of local versus outsider. During the last elections, the matter was different because he (Pilot) was the face of the chief ministerial post and was the president of the state unit of his party. Today he is also contesting elections to become MLA and so am I.

The lure of position is not leaving Ashok Gehlot

The BJP leader said that Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said that he wants to leave the post, but the post is not leaving him. The whole of Rajasthan knows that the face of the Chief Minister is fixed in Congress. He Sachin Pilot is fighting to become MLA and is facing a local person for the first time. His comment comes after Gehlot’s statement given at a press conference in Delhi a few weeks ago, in which the Congress leader had said that he wants to leave the post of Chief Minister, but it is not leaving him and possibly in the future. Will not leave either. This comment came amid the long-running power struggle between Gehlot and Pilot. He also accused Sachin Pilot of not being among the people of the constituency in the last five years.

There has been no development in Tonk

Ajit Singh Mehta said that after winning by more than 54,000 votes in the last five years, Sachin Pilot did not stand with the people even 54 times in good and bad times. He claimed that our assembly constituency was deprived of development. He said that he has been the MLA from here for five years and whether it is roads, water or sanitation, he has worked hard to provide all facilities to the people. He said that the mood of the public is for change and on what basis will the public representative (who has not been among the public and has not listened to their problems) (ask for votes), I do not know. He alleged that for the last five years, the people of Rajasthan have been struggling with the misgovernance of the government, which is number-1 in corruption, atrocities on women, playing with the future of youth and cheating farmers. Describing himself as a local resident, Mehta said that it makes a lot of difference if someone is a local. Voting for the assembly elections will be held in Rajasthan on 25th November and the results will be declared on 3rd December.
