Rajasthan Election 2023 : Senior Congress leader Sachin Pilot on Friday said his party will fight the Rajasthan Assembly elections “unitedly” and the decision on who will lead the next government will be taken by the high command after discussions with the newly elected MLAs. He also expressed confidence that Congress will break the tradition of changing the government every five years in the assembly elections.
‘Government lived up to all the promises made in the elections’
In an exclusive interview with ‘PTI-Bhasha’ ahead of the Congress Working Committee meeting in Hyderabad, Sachin Pilot said that the Congress has lived up to all the poll promises made in the 2018 Rajasthan elections and the state government and the party are working together. . Sachin Pilot expressed confidence that as a result of this unity, Congress will defeat Bharatiya Janata Party in this election. When asked about his earlier statement regarding contesting the elections with the collective leadership of the party, Pilot said that this has been the tradition of the Congress not only in Rajasthan but in the entire country.
‘When we win the elections…’
He said, “Once we win the elections and get the majority, the MLAs and the party leadership decide who will lead the legislature party. This is not a new thing. This has been the practice for decades and The same policy will be adopted in the states where we are going to contest elections in the next few months.”
Who is the face for the post of Chief Minister from Congress?
When asked about the chief ministerial face from Congress, Sachin Pilot said, ‘(Mallikarjun) Kharge ji, Rahul (Gandhi) ji and Sonia ji are our leaders and we have a Congress government in Rajasthan. Therefore, we have to work unitedly and effectively so that the elections can be won. If we get majority, then discussions will be held with the MLAs and on that basis the leadership will decide as to who should be handed over the command of the government.
“Congress party always united”
Sachin Pilot said, “The Congress party has always been united. Whatever issues we have, it is within our rights to discuss, talk and ensure that the voice of the people is heard at the highest level.” When asked what Gehlot (Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot) had said in the past. Sachin Pilot said, “I have always shown utmost respect and restraint in all my public statements. My values And values do not allow me to use such language which lowers the dignity of our conversation.

Sachin Pilot claimed that the BJP is in a bad situation in the state and is facing various kinds of “contradictions” within its organization. He alleged, “BJP could not play the role of the ruling party at the Center and disappointed the people. Also, it failed to play the role of opposition in Rajasthan. Bharatiya Janata Party has expressed its concern over the law and order situation in Rajasthan. Hitting back at the attack, Sachin Pilot said that instead of politicizing the sensitive issue, BJP should show equal concern over the atrocities on Dalits and tribals in Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and other BJP ruled states.
