Rajasthan: CM Ashok Gehlot sacked minister Rajendra Gudha, had raised questions on the government itself

Ashok Gehlot Suspended Minister Rajendra Singh Gudha: Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot sacked state minister Rajendra Gudha on Friday night. The spokesperson of Raj Bhavan gave this information. This action has taken place a few hours after Gudha surrounded his own government on the issue of women’s atrocities in the Assembly on Friday. Raj Bhavan spokesperson said that the recommendation of the Chief Minister regarding the sacking of Minister of State Gudha has been accepted by the Governor with immediate effect.

According to the statement of Raj Bhavan, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot recommended Governor Kalraj Mishra to sack Minister of State Rajendra Singh Gudha this evening. It has been said in this that the Governor has accepted this recommendation of Chief Minister Gehlot with immediate effect. Earlier, an official source told PTI-language, “Rajendra Gudha has been removed from the post of Minister of State.”

Gudha questioned his own government on the issue of women’s safety and atrocities against them. Congress MLAs wave placards on the issue of violence in Manipur during the discussion on the Rajasthan Minimum Income Guarantee Bill 2023 in the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly. Raising questions on his own government, Gudha said, “In Rajasthan, it is a fact that we have failed to protect women, and the way atrocities on women have increased in Rajasthan, instead of Manipur, we should look at our own necks.” .”

Leader of Opposition Rajendra Rathore said that Rajasthan is at number one in terms of crimes against women. Rathore later said in a tweet, “The Minister of the Government, Rajendra Gudha himself, is telling the reality of the atrocities and misdemeanors being committed on sisters and daughters in Rajasthan.” According to Article 164(2) of the Constitution, the cabinet works on the basis of collective responsibility and the statement of the minister is considered to be that of the entire cabinet i.e. the government.

Gudha had Sainik Welfare (independent charge), Home Guard and Civil Defense (independent charge), Panchayati Raj and Rural Development departments. It is noteworthy that Gudha is one of the six MLAs who won the 2018 assembly elections on a Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) ticket, but later joined the Congress. Gudha was included in the Ashok Gehlot cabinet. After that Gudha was openly seen supporting Sachin Pilot and remained in controversies with his many statements.
