Rain broke record in Bareilly, 157 mm rain in 24 hours, smart city exposed, water entered houses

Bareilly News: Rain has broken old records in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh. It has rained 157 mm in 24 hours. Never before has it rained so much in September. Intermittent rain for the last 24 hours continued till Monday morning. After this the sun came out. But, due to rain, a drop in temperature has been recorded.

According to the Meteorological Department, the minimum temperature on Monday is expected to be 25 degrees and the maximum temperature is expected to be 31 degrees Celsius. This rain ruined the smart city. Many roads in the city have been waterlogged and roads have caved in at many places.

Due to rain in Bareilly, dirty water from drains entered people’s homes, due to which people had to keep their household items in a safe place. People struggled throughout the night to remove dirty water from their homes. Due to rain, half the electricity feeders of the city were closed. Due to this interruption in power supply, consumers were greatly troubled.

Rain expected till 26th September

Normally monsoon ends by 15th September, due to which there is no rain after 15th September. But, this time it started raining from 17th September. According to the Meteorological Department, this rain is expected to continue till September 26. Earlier, due to heavy rains for five days, the rivers were in spate. Now once again the risk of flood has increased due to the start of rain. Rain is expected from 19 to 26 September. There will be dark clouds with strong winds.

City power substation stalled

After the rains, the situation of electricity supply in the city is very bad. Electricity supply was stopped due to lightning at many power houses in the city. According to the electricity department, 11 out of 24 power sub-stations had come to a standstill due to lightning. The process of repairing them continues on Monday also. Along with this, electricity supply was also stopped due to falling of trees on the high tension line in CBganj.

From Sunday night to Monday morning, there was no electricity in many areas of the city as well as rural areas of Rampur Road including Jagriti Nagar, Anand Vihar, Swale Nagar, Karmachari Nagar, Vidholia, Raza Colony, Harungala, Bankhana, Faridapur, Rahpura, Subhashnagar, Madhinath, Badaun Road. The supply was stopped. Electricity consumers are very worried. He made calls to the local power sub-station and officers to get the power supply repaired. But no one’s call was received. After this a complaint was lodged on the helpline of MVVCL. Due to lack of electricity supply, there is no water supply in many areas.

Waterlogging in these areas

After heavy rains, the roads of Jagatpur, Hajiyapur, Madhinath and Badaun Road of the city are flooded. Due to this it has become difficult for people to come out. People complained to the Municipal Corporation. But, no hearing took place. Along with this, due to the drains of the city not being cleaned, dirty water from the drains filled people’s homes.

Ramganga started cutting, water level of rivers increased

The water level of rivers has increased after the rain. The water level of all the rivers of the division including Ramganga passing through Bareilly, Kichha, Bahgul and Ganga passing through Badaun has increased. It is raining heavily in Uttarakhand also, due to which the process of releasing water from the barrage has also started. Ramganga river and Kichha river have started harvesting crops.
