Bihar Weather Report: South-west monsoon has once again become active in Bihar. The entire state has been receiving good rainfall since Friday. Rain continues on Saturday as well, which has occurred in almost all the districts across the state. Due to this, an average rainfall of about 70 mm was recorded in the state in the last 24 hours. The rain has given relief to people from the heat and humidity, but due to it life has become disrupted. The difference between roads and drains has disappeared in cities. Rain water has entered houses and government offices. In Mithilanchal, water has entered the emergency, OPD and wards of hospitals. Six people died in 13 districts of Kosi-Seemanchal and East Bihar. Barnar Causeway in Jamui has been completely damaged. Railway tracks were submerged in many areas. Here, there was heavy rainfall of 61 mm in Patna on Friday. One and a half to two feet water has accumulated on the road.
Kosi-Seemanchal is in disarray
Due to rain in Kosi-Seemanchal and East Bihar, life got disrupted. Due to this, there was water logging in the streets of the cities, while the market was also adversely affected. While six people died in 13 districts during the rains, people had to face power shortage for hours. Rambaran Tanti’s 53-year-old wife Gunjo Devi died after the mud wall of her house collapsed under the debris in Bhattachak Majhaganya village of Baidpur Panchayat of Banka, while more than a dozen people were injured.
Bridge damaged in Jamui, water on railway track in Lakhisarai
The useful Barnar Causeway, which connects at least 9 panchayats and dozens of villages of the western region to Sono block headquarters of Jamui, was completely damaged. Due to the strong flow of water, ten pillars got submerged and a large part of the causeway got submerged. The remaining portion developed cracks at many places. Due to damage to the causeway, vehicular traffic was completely stopped. Railway track got submerged in Kajra of Lakhisarai. Due to blockage of the railway drain at 12 o’clock on Friday night, the rain water could not drain and the water came on the railway track. The sleeper of the up railway line remained submerged in water for about two and a half hours. The water was removed after a lot of effort by the railway workers.
Mithilanchal: Water from homes to offices
Due to rain in Mithilanchal (Darbhanga, Madhubani and Samastipur) for the last two days, the city and rural areas have been flooded. In cities, the difference between roads and drains has disappeared. Rain water has entered houses and government offices. Water has entered the emergency, OPD and wards of the hospitals. Darbhanga city is inundated. Water has entered most of the departments located on the ground floor of DMCH. Patients are lying on beds, water is accumulated on the floor below. In Samastipur, the Civil Court complex, Sadar Hospital and many office premises were submerged. Same is the situation in Madhubani also.
Two cattle herders died in Gaya
Two teenage girls died due to lightning on Saturday evening in Phuleldih village of Magra police station area of Dumariya block of Gaya. Both of them were grazing cattle in the fields when there was a lightning strike, in which both of them died on the spot. Among the deceased are Suggi Kumari, 16-year-old daughter of Munarik Bhuiyan of Phuleldih village and Rani Kumari, 12-year-old daughter of Vinod Bhuiyan. In Banka also, a 28-year-old woman died due to a landslide.
How will the weather be in Bihar?
According to the Meteorological Center, there is a possibility of light and heavy rain in almost the districts of the state on Sunday also. There is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rain at one or two places in Kishanganj, Araria and Supaul. At the same time, there is a possibility of heavy rain at one or two places in Katihar, Purnia, Madhepura and Madhubani. According to the Meteorological Center, there will be a change in weather patterns from Monday and people will get relief from humidity.
