Railways will now use new technology in checking tracks, know what is USFD checking system

Jhajha. After several accidents in recent times, questions are being raised on the safety system of the Railways. Railways are especially on target regarding the maintenance of tracks. In such a situation, Railways has paid attention to new technologies regarding inspection of tracks and has claimed that this will reduce accidents. Railway management claims that it is committed to ensuring safety and reliability in train operations. New technologies are constantly being used in this regard. To implement zero tolerance in safety, Railways is using Ultrasonic Flaw Detection Machine on a large scale for checking railway tracks and welded joints etc. This will definitely increase the quality of inspection with ultrasonic waves which will detect even minor flaws.

USFD is a sophisticated inspection tool

In this regard, Traffic Inspector Ravi Gupta said that USFD is a sophisticated inspection tool designed to identify and assess flaws and defects in railway tracks. Thereby enabling early detection and preventive maintenance. This revolutionary technology uses advanced ultrasonic waves to penetrate materials providing vital insight into the health and condition of railway tracks. Ultrasonic Flaw Detection (USFD) testing of hundreds of Track Kilometers (TKM) of railway tracks has already been completed.

How does ultrasonic flaw detection machine work?

High Precision Scanning USFD uses advanced ultrasonic technology for precise scanning. This ensures that even the smallest flaws that compromise security are detected. Real-time data analysis Equipped with data analysis capabilities, the USFD provides real-time feedback to operators, enabling them to make immediate decisions and intervene when necessary.

increased security

USFD testing significantly enhances security by detecting flaws that may not be visible to the naked eye and proactively protects against potential threats. Non-Destructive Testing: As a non-destructive testing methodology USFD ensures inspection without causing damage to rail infrastructure minimizing downtime and operational disruptions.

The USFD is designed to adapt to various track configurations and environmental conditions, providing a versatile solution to the diverse railway network within the Eastern Railway. Traffic Inspector Shri Gupta said that Eastern Railway remains at the forefront in adopting innovation to enhance safety and setting new standards for the industry. The launch of USFD underlines the dedication of Eastern Railway to provide a safe and reliable rail network for passengers and freight.
