Sonpur Mela 2023: The historic Sonpur fair has started in Bihar. Many types of stalls have been set up in it. Meanwhile, ‘Rail Village’ has now been inaugurated here. People will be able to come face to face with many things in this. General Manager Anil Kumar Khandelwal has inaugurated “Rail Village” in Harihar area Sonpur Fair in the dignified presence of Rekha Khandelwal, President of Former Central Railway Women Welfare Organization. On this occasion, Additional General Manager Tarun Prakash and Divisional Railway Manager of Sonpur Division Vivek Bhushan Sood and other officers were present. After the inauguration of ‘Rail Village’, the General Manager took stock of the entire Rail Village complex and visited the exhibitions organized by different departments. Later, all the officers including the General Manager and the President and members of the Women Welfare Organization also enjoyed the toy train ride.
Exhibition organized by medical department
On this occasion, a cultural program was also organized by the artists of Sonpur Mandal Kala Cultural Organization and members of Scouts and Guides. Exhibitions of different departments of Railways like Mechanical, Signal, Commercial, Security, Railway Protection Force and Medical Department have been organized in Rail Village. Through this, Railways has displayed its activities. Various aspects related to passenger service and railway operations have been displayed in the exhibition. People may come face to face with many things here regarding signal. An attempt has been made to show all the facilities provided to the passengers through the poster.
Rail Village becomes center of attraction for everyone
The biggest specialty of Rail Village is that it remains a center of attraction for everyone. Especially the toy train is the center of special attraction among children. Earlier, traffic police had also set up a stall in the Sonpur fair. In this, fixed camera, public address system, adaptive traffic control system, mega phone, light, gun system etc. are being displayed through iTriple Hundred. Its biggest feature is that through this the police will tell how it conducts its program.
Fair decorated with many stalls
It is known that Sonpur fair is called the biggest fair of Asia. People come from far and wide to see this fair. The fair has been decorated with many stalls. A horse worth lakhs is the center of attraction for people in the animal market. People from abroad are also coming to participate in this fair. Russian artists also exhibited their art in the fair. He had spread the magic of his folk dance on everyone. He also praised India, its people and the Sonpur fair. This fair will continue till 26th December and this fair has been organized for 32 days. There is also a provision of guides in the fair. Besides, arrangements for boarding and lodging have also been made for them. Apart from this, 20 Swiss cottages have also been constructed. A broken package was also arranged from Patna to Sonpur. Bihar Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav had inaugurated the Sonpur fair. People also come to Sonpur fair to decorate the gardens of their homes. Many types of flowers are found here. Farmers arrive with their pairs of bulls to buy the flowers. It is said that kings and maharajas used to strengthen their armies through this fair. Horses and swords were also purchased through this fair.
