Raids conducted in 193 premises of Deoghar and Godda, FIR lodged against 62

On Tuesday, on the instructions of the headquarters of Jharkhand Electricity Distribution Corporation, Ranchi, Deoghar, a team of departmental officials and personnel conducted an intensive raid campaign in the power zone area against defaulters to collect bills and collect revenue. As part of the campaign, the departmental team raided 193 premises as well as checked the connections. According to departmental information, after investigation, for being found using electricity illegally, action was taken against 62 consumers, 20 in Deoghar and Jasidih, 29 in Madhupur and Sarath area under Madhupur division and Godda and Mahagama area of ​​Godda district. FIR was lodged against 13 accused in various police stations. 2.50 lakh units of electricity were used after disconnection. According to the assessment of the departmental team, a case of illegal use of 2,52,960 units of electricity by the accused registered in the FIR even after disconnection has come to light. The team has imposed a fine of Rs. 15 lakh, 08 against the accused. A fine cum compensation amount of Rs 237 was fixed, which will be recovered later, whereas these consumers had an outstanding of Rs 9,07,096. The total amount of dues and compensation has reached Rs 24,15,333.
