Quality research will get a boost in Jharkhand, Innovation and Startup Promotion Board will be formed

‘Jharkhand State Research, Innovation and Startup Promotion Board’ will be constituted. Its objective is to promote quality research on global standards in universities and colleges. Along with this, researchers have to be helped in finding solutions to the problems of society, economy and the country, new innovations and startups are encouraged. Its proposal has been prepared by the Higher and Technical Education Department.

The board will have chairman, vice-chairman, executive director, secretary of higher and technical education department, vice-chancellors of three universities on rotation basis for three years. Also, a senior scientist nominated by DST/CSIR/DBT/ICSSR on the basis of rotation by the Central Government, a representative of Planning and Development Department under Jharkhand, representative of Jharkhand Finance Department, on the board.

Nominated representative from Jharkhand School Education and Literacy Department, scientist from Central University/Jharkhand State Government Research Institute on rotation basis for three years, two senior representatives from Non-Government Research Institute on rotation basis for three years will be members. Whereas, the director of the board will be the member secretary.

Appointment will be made for office operation:

One director, two associate directors including science, social science, humanities and technical, three consultants on contract from the engineering field, computer operator cum typist, one peon will be appointed for board office operations.

The duties of the board will be:

Research activities going on in the university will have to be reviewed from time to time and recommendations will be made for future research. To prepare a list of important areas of research in social sciences, to identify priority areas such as agriculture, industries, services including environment etc. to encourage research in such areas in the state.

Apart from this, to follow the guidelines of National Education Policy, UGC and other bodies, to monitor the quality of research in the university, to explore the possibilities of international research connectivity, to promote research linkage in higher education. Must work as. The board will also be responsible for promoting patent-oriented research and maintaining the research profile. State-level awards for excellent researchers, providing funds for projects, preparation of startup policy in the university, etc. will be included.
