Purvanchal Expressway will be extended till Bhagalpur, construction process of Danapur-Bihta elevated road will also be speeded up

The way for the construction of Bihar’s first expressway is now clear. NHAI will soon start survey work to explore the possibility of extension of Purvanchal Expressway to Bhagalpur. Along with this, land acquisition will start soon for the construction of Gorakhpur-Siliguri and Raxaul-Dighwara-Haldia Expressway passing through about one and a half dozen districts of Bihar. At the same time, the construction agency will also be selected for the construction of Danapur-Bihta elevated road in Patna this month. After this, the construction of this road is likely to start from next month. Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari has given this instruction to the officials after meeting Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Prasad Yadav on Thursday. Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Prasad Yadav met Union Minister Gadkari in New Delhi and demanded to start construction on the state’s ambitious road and bridge projects.

Tejashwi demanded to complete these schemes soon

According to sources, Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Prasad Yadav met Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and demanded early completion of five under-construction road projects in the state. Also requested to keep the road passable during construction. The deadline for the construction of these road projects has been extended several times. This includes Hajipur-Chhapra NH-19, Muzaffarpur bypass NH-77 in Hajipur-Muzaffarpur NH, Maheshkhunt-Saharsa-Madhepura-Purnia NH-107, Patna-Gaya-Dobhi NH-83, Birpur-Udakishanganj-Bihpur NH-106.

Purvanchal Expressway will be extended till Bhagalpur

During this, it was also agreed to extend Purvanchal Expressway up to Bhagalpur. Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari instructed the officials of NHAI present in the meeting to expedite the work in this regard. At present, the Purvanchal Expressway is built from Lucknow to the border of Bihar in Ghazipur. There was a plan to extend it from Buxar to Patna. Later, there is a plan to make it about 350 km in length till Bhagalpur. Due to the construction of this road, a lot of time will also be saved. Earlier it used to take 9 hours to go from Buxar to Bhagalpur, now it will be completed in 4 hours.

Bridge parallel to JP Setu, Patna-Koilwar and Anisabad-Didarganj elevated corridor

During the meeting, Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Prasad Yadav urged Union Minister Gadkari to approve the construction of a new six-lane bridge parallel to the JP Setu on the Ganga river in Patna. Along with this, the construction of elevated corridor path between Patna to Koilwar and Anisabad to Didarganj was also discussed. On this, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari assured to take quick action in this regard.

What does the Deputy Chief Minister say

Talking to reporters after the meeting, Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Prasad Yadav said that there is no expressway in Bihar. In this situation, Union Minister Gadkari has been requested to start land acquisition by giving necessary approval for construction of Raxaul-Dighwara-Haldia Expressway including Gorakhpur-Siliguri. Considering this positively, the Union Minister has directed the officials of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways to take necessary action.

Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Prasad Yadav traveled in New Delhi on Thursday in the special hydrogen car of Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari. Tejashwi also looked happy riding in this car. This car is special because it is currently available only at the testing level in the country, and it is also a hydrogen-powered car. Till now there are electric cars in the country apart from cars running on petrol, diesel and CNG. The hydrogen car is only available in a select number of numbers in the country.

In fact, Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Prasad Yadav met Union Minister Nitin Gadkari in New Delhi on Thursday regarding the state’s road and bridge projects. After this meeting, when he started returning to Bihar Bhawan, Union Minister Gadkari saw him off in his special hydrogen car. Also advised Tejashwi to avoid petrol and diesel vehicles regarding the environment.
