Purnia Araria is at the forefront in taking loan, Munger Nalanda is at the top in depositing money, know the CD ratio of the districts

Kailashpati Mishra, Patna. The trend of taking loans is not the same in all the districts of Bihar. There is a tendency to take more loans in some districts and less in others. People of Munger, Nalanda, Saran, Bhojpur and Jehanabad are lagging behind in taking loans, while people of Purnia, Araria, West and East Champaran and Kishanganj are ahead. In fact, after a long time, there has been a positive improvement in the credit-deposit (CD) ratio of banks in the state. The CD average of the state has reached 54.23%. Purnia’s achievement in this has been brilliant. People of Purnia district are ahead of the national average in terms of taking loans. The CD ratio of this district is 90.13%, while the national ratio is 78%. Whereas the credit-deposit ratio of Munger is only one-third of that of Purnia i.e. 31.27%.

Purnia’s NPA is less than the state average.

According to the report of the State Level Bankers Committee, banks have distributed a lot of loans in Seemanchal. People taking loans there are better off in repayment than other districts of Bihar. Due to this, NPA is also less. The NPA of Purnia, the highest loan taking district, is only 8.5% while the average NPA of the state is around 10.35%.

More loan distribution in MSME sector

In East Bihar, banks have given loans as per the need in the primary sector. According to the sources of SBI, the lead bank of Purnia district, in the last financial year 2021-22, 121% loans were given in comparison to the target and 118% loans were given in comparison to 2020-21 in the MSME sector. As far as NPA is concerned, Purnia’s NPA is also only 8.75%.

3100 crore loans will be distributed

People of East Bihar also get the benefits of the Prime Minister Minority Loan Scheme being run for the minorities. Under this scheme, till June 30, 2022, Rs 64 crore loans have been distributed in Purnia, Rs 92 crore in Araria, Rs 60 crore in Kishanganj and Rs 47 crore in Katihar, while Rs 3100 crore loans will be distributed by the end of the current financial year.
