Some Hindu organizations in Kolhapur controversial whatsapp status were opposing. After this protest there was a clash between the two sides, after which the police first released tear gas and then lathicharged. Following the social media post, there was tension in the city and bandh was called by some organizations and protests were also being held.
Government’s responsibility to maintain law and order
On this issue, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said that it is the responsibility of the government to maintain law and order in the state. I appeal to the public to maintain peace, police investigation is on in this matter and the guilty will be punished. On the other hand, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that no one would be allowed to take the law into their hands. Yes, those who glorify Aurangzeb will not be spared.
