UP News: New vice-chancellors have been posted in two state universities of Uttar Pradesh. By issuing an order on Thursday, Governor Anandi Ben Patel has appointed Professor Poonam Tandon of Lucknow University as the Vice-Chancellor of Deendayal Upadhyaya University, Gorakhpur.
Along with this, Prof. of Allahabad University. Vandana Singh has been appointed as the Vice-Chancellor of Veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal University, Jaunpur. The important thing is that in both the state universities, women teachers have been appointed as vice-chancellors. The Vice-Chancellors appointed on both the posts will remain posted on this post for 3 years.

Bobde has issued a letter, stating that Chancellor Anandiben Patel has exercised the powers conferred under sub-section 1 of section 12 of the Uttar Pradesh State University Act, 1973. While doing Lucknow University’s Prof. Poonam Tandon has been appointed as the Vice-Chancellor of Deendayal Upadhyaya Gorakhpur University.
Pro. Poonam Tandon has been appointed as the Vice-Chancellor of Gorakhpur University for a period of 3 years from the date of taking charge. Whereas Prof. Vandana Singh has also been appointed Vice-Chancellor of Veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal University, Jaunpur for a period of three years. Please tell that the Vice-Chancellor of Purvanchal University, Prof. Nirmala S. Maurya’s tenure was completed in the past.
Professor of Physics Department has 30 years of long teaching experience
Professor Poonam Tandon is working as Professor in the Department of Physics, Lucknow University since 2006. Has been in Lucknow University for almost 30 years. His research papers have been published in more than 250 national and international journals. Apart from this, about 40 students have completed PhD work. Professor Poonam Tandon has also worked with many international organizations.
In Lucknow University, he gave the responsibility of the posts like Dean Student Welfare and Dean Academics, which he performed well. At present, she is also working on the post of Director General of the undertaking. Professor Poonam Tandon has also received Young Scientist Award, UGC Award, Full Bright Scholarship, Hum Bulat Award and Shikshak Shree Samman.
It is worth mentioning that earlier Governor and Chancellor Anandiben Patel had appointed Vice Chancellors in Ruhilkhand University and Sampurnanand Sanskrit University. Professor Krishan Pal Singh was appointed as the Vice Chancellor of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Ruhelkhand University for the second time in a row.
Along with this, Prof. Bihari Lal Sharma was made the Vice-Chancellor of Sampurnanand Sanskrit University, Varanasi. The appointment of both the Vice-Chancellors was entrusted for three years from the date of assumption of charge. Few days before that Dr. Director of Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences, Prof. Sonia Nityanand was appointed as the Vice Chancellor of King George’s Medical University, Lucknow.
