Preparations for Lok Sabha elections 2024 begin, state level ‘ERO training’ in Ranchi

Preparations for Lok Sabha elections 2024 have started in Jharkhand. State level ERO training has started in the capital Ranchi on Wednesday (11 October). In the capital Ranchi, training was given to the Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) of many assembly constituencies of the state by the Cabinet (Election) Department. The remaining officials will be trained on October 14. On this occasion, Chief Electoral Officer of Jharkhand K Ravi Kumar informed the EROs from different assembly constituencies about the upcoming lok sabha election 2024 In order to prepare for the election, detailed training was given on various aspects like district election management plan, vulnerability mapping, sweep etc. He was also given detailed information about the data of the recent CAP survey conducted by the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer. Said that all the officers have to work like this at their level.

Will take help of new media to make voters aware

The Chief Electoral Officer said that it is very important for you to know how to use the results of the survey about the knowledge, attitude and behavior of the citizens to increase the voting percentage. He said that along with traditional communication mediums, social media or new media like internet, social media, mobile TV etc. should also be used positively to increase election awareness among citizens.

Remove misconceptions related to election system: CEO Jharkhand

The Chief Electoral Officer said that find out whether there is any misconception or ignorance in the minds of the citizens regarding the electoral system in your constituency. If it is, then we all will have to make collective efforts to remove it. They have to reach out to people using door to door, social media, miking, newspapers, posters, street plays, LED vans etc. Have to get involved in this right now.

CEO gave important guidelines to REO

The Chief Electoral Officer also gave necessary directions to the Sub-Divisional Officers or other equivalent and senior officers notified as EROs who came from different districts. The CEO also took feedback from these officers. Along with EROs from different assembly constituencies, Under Secretary of the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer Dev Das Dutta, Deputy Electoral Officer (Headquarters) Sanjay Kumar and many other concerned officials of the Election Department were present in the training program.
