Tight security arrangements have been made in the metropolis for the parade to be organized on Red Road on the occasion of Republic Day on Friday.
Kolkata Police will deploy 2,500 additional policemen for security across the metropolis.
Joint Commissioner (Headquarters) of Kolkata Police, Santosh Pandey said that for security reasons, Red Road has been divided into 17 zones and 125 sectors on Republic Day.
22 Deputy Commissioner rank officers will be deployed for the security of each zone. Apart from this, 42 Assistant Commissioner rank officers have also been given the responsibility of security.
