UP: Passengers no longer need to worry about getting from Gorakhpur railway station to their destination. Because 24 hours prepaid taxi facility will start at Gorakhpur Junction. Rail passengers have started getting prepaid taxi facility from Thursday. Now the passengers coming to the junction will be able to reach their home, office or hotel on time and safely even in late night. On the initiative of General Manager Chandra Veer Raman, an agency has been nominated to provide prepaid taxi facility.
Passengers will not need to go outside the platform to book prepaid taxis. Token will be issued to them on platform number 1 and 2 only. Counters will be opened at the main gate of platform number 1 and near Yatri Mitra office on platform number 2. Taxi fare will be marked on these counters. Passengers will have to take a token of ₹30 to book a taxi. Taxi booking will be done on the basis of token only. Assistants will be deployed 24 hours at the counters who will book taxi for the passenger.

Let’s tell that there is no proper arrangement for traffic at Gorakhpur Junction. Passengers have to face a lot of problems during the night. They do not get any means to reach the destination and even if means are available, they ask for arbitrary rates. For places far away from Gorakhpur railway station like Chaurichaura, PPganj, AIIMS, Medical College, there are some places where night travel becomes difficult for the passengers. But now there will be a lot of convenience for the passengers due to the provision of prepaid taxis. Helpline numbers will be issued for the convenience of passengers.
