Prayagraj: Special buses will run for Magh Mela from today, Roadways made this arrangement for the convenience of devotees.

Magh Mela has started from today on the festival of Makar Sankranti in Prayagraj. In view of Magh Mela, the transport department will operate one thousand additional buses. In view of the Magh Mela starting from January 15 in Prayagraj under the leadership of Yogi government, all preparations of the Transport Corporation have been done. The Transport Corporation will operate additional buses on the main bathing festivals falling from January 15 to March 8 in Prayagraj area. Transport Minister Dayashankar Singh said that Makar Sankranti, Mauni Amavasya, Basant Panchami, Magh Purnima and Mahashivratri are the major bathing festivals. On all these bathing festivals, a large number of devotees come to Prayagraj for bathing, charity, worship etc. Keeping in view the convenience of transportation for the devotees, the Transport Corporation is operating buses from different areas. The Transport Minister said that Roadways will operate 2800 buses, out of which 1000 additional buses will be operated, which also includes 200 reserve buses. He said that additional arrangements of 80 buses have been made for the nearby pilgrimage sites of Prayagraj, Kashi, Vindhyachal, Chitrakoot and Ayodhya.

380 buses will run from Gorakhpur area

Transport Minister said that 380 from Gorakhpur region, 360 from Azamgarh region, 300 from Varanasi region, 220 from Ayodhya region, 230 from Chitrakootdham, 50 from Jhansi region, 260 from Kanpur region, 300 from Lucknow, 550 from Prayagraj region, Devipatan region. 150 buses will be operated from.

1800 buses will run on small bathing festivals

The Transport Minister said that except the main bathing festivals (Mauni Amavasya and Basant Panchami), arrangements have been made to operate 1800 buses on other bathing festivals, which includes 200 reserve buses. He told that 180 buses from Gorakhpur area, 50 reserve buses, 150 buses from Azamgarh, 50 reserve buses, 170 buses from Varanasi, 50 reserve buses, 150 buses from Ayodhya, 550 buses from Prayagraj, 110 buses and 50 reserve buses from Chitrakoot Dham, 110 buses from Kanpur. 100 buses will be operated from Lucknow and 80 buses from Devipatan.

10 special trains will run for devotees from today

On the day of Makar Sankranti, 15 January, 10 additional trains will be run, apart from this, five trains will be in reserve. Similarly, 20 trains will be run for Mauni Amavasya. Trains going from Prayagraj Junction and Naini Junction towards Meja Road, Manda Road, Vidhyachal, Mirzapur, Chunar and Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Junction will be available. Passengers will get trains from Prayagraj Junction to railway stations like Bharwari, Sirathu, Khaga, Fatehpur and Kanpur. From Prayagraj Junction, Naini Junction and Chhivki railway station, trains going towards Shankargarh, Dabhaura, Manikpur, Veerangana Laxmibai Jhansi, Satna, Jabalpur etc. stations will be available. From Prayag and Phaphamau stations, passengers will get trains going towards Phulpur, Bhadohi, Jaunpur, Lalganj, Amethi, Pratapgarh, Unchahar, Rae Bareli, Lucknow, Bareilly, Sultanpur, Ayodhya Cantt, Ayodhya etc. stations. Apart from this, trains going from Prayagraj Rambagh and Jhunsi railway stations towards Gyanpur Road, Banaras, Varanasi, Mau, Ballia, Bhatni, Gorakhpur etc. stations will be available.
