Nowadays people of Prayagraj are spending crores on sports and super luxury cars. Out of more than 1.5 lakh cars registered in the Divisional Transport Office (RTO) here, there are 130 cars whose price exceeds crores.
These cars have been imported from other cities and states and have been registered here. Cars like Jaguar, Range Rover, Mercedes Benz, Land Cruiser, BMW are registered in the files of the RTO office. The number of such cars has increased in the last two years.
In the year 2022, 16 cars worth more than Rs 1 crore were registered. Talking about this year, 13 cars have been registered so far. This number may increase. These cars are imported from cities like Noida, Lucknow, Chandigarh, Delhi, Mumbai.
These cars include Land Rover Defender worth Rs 1.32 crore, Mercedes Benz 535 0D worth Rs 1.17 crore, Land Cruiser Prado worth Rs 1.11 crore, BMW Signature worth Rs 1.7 crore, Mercedes Benz GLS worth Rs 1.29 crore, Audi Q8 worth Rs 1.7 crore, Range Rover worth Rs 1.64 crore. Rover Sports and Jaguar F Dynamic worth Rs 1.15 crore.
Prayagraj’s Assistant Divisional Transport Officer Rajeev Chaturvedi said that people’s attraction towards sports and luxury cars has increased. The number of these cars has increased rapidly in the last few years.
He further said that since these cars do not have showrooms in the city, they are purchased from other cities and states and registered here.
