Poor MLA of Madhya Pradesh! Live in a mud house, water drips from the roof, sometimes used to work as a laborer.

After the results of elections held in Madhya Pradesh, there are many such news which are making headlines in the media. Meanwhile, a news is being discussed in full swing. In fact, the richest MLA of the newly elected Madhya Pradesh Assembly has declared assets worth Rs 223 crore. The Association for Democratic Reform (ADR) has analyzed the affidavits of all the 230 candidates who won the elections, which have been made public. If we look at the ADR report, Kamleshwar Dodiyar, who won the election from Sailana seat in Ratlam district, is the poorest MLA who had contested from the reserved tribal seat under the banner of Bharat Adivasi Party.

Which candidate did Dodiyar defeat?

Talking about Kamleshwar Dodiyar, he is 33 years old. In the assembly elections, he defeated his nearest rival Harsh Vijay Gehlot of Congress by a margin of 4,618. Let us tell you that Sailana is the only seat on which any party other than BJP or Congress has won. Dodiyar’s childhood was full of difficulties. To finance his studies, he worked as a laborer and tiffin delivery boy. He is a person who believes in leading a simple life. Even at present he lives in a mud house. If it ever rains, the roof of their house leaks. He has become such an MLA who does not even have his own car.

After the victory, newly elected MLA Dodiyar has reacted. He said that my party colleagues supported me in the election campaign due to which I have reached this position today. These are my supporters who campaigned on an empty stomach. I will always be grateful to him for this. Not only this, he bore the expenses from his own pocket during the election campaign for me. He said that I had to immediately go to the capital Bhopal to submit the documents in the Secretariat. I went to Bhopal by bike because I don’t have a car.

Kamleshwar Dodiyar had to sell eggs also

Kamleshwar belongs to Dodiyar tribal community. He was born in Radha Kuan village of Sailana constituency. Dodiyar had the responsibility of household, to fulfill which he used to roam around the village and sell eggs. He took graduation degree in Arts. Not only this, while studying LLB from Delhi University, he thought of extra income and did the work of tiffin delivery in Delhi. It may be noted that Kamleshwar Dodiyar had contested his first election as an independent from Sailana assembly seat in 2018. He was defeated in this election. He also contested the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, but lost again. Finally he got success in 2023.
