So far it has been revealed in the media reports that the conspiracy of the attack was hatched by Lashkar and Jaish. It is coming to the fore that these two terrorist organizations are the mastermind of the Poonch attack. Security agencies suspect that Pakistan is preparing for a major infiltration through PoK.

Significantly, the jawans who were martyred in the terrorist attack were the 16th Corps soldiers of the army stationed in Nagrota. Among the martyrs are the names of Havildar Mandeep Singh, Lance Naik Debasish Baswal, Lance Naik Kulwant Singh, Sepoy Harkrishna Singh and Sepoy Sevak Singh. At the same time, Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha said that he is saddened by the martyrdom of the brave soldiers.
