Poonch Attack: Search for terrorists continues with the help of drones, sniffer dogs and helicopters, 12 in custody

Jammu and Kashmir Security forces launched a massive search operation in the dense forest of Bata-Doria area after five soldiers were killed in a terrorist attack in Poonch on April 21. Drones and sniffer dogs were used in this operation, while an MI helicopter reconnoitred the dense forest area. It is known that the soldiers who were martyred in the attack belonged to the Rashtriya Rifles unit and were deployed for anti-terrorist operations in the area.

12 people detained in Poonch attack case

In connection with the Poonch attack, 12 people were detained for questioning. The detained persons are being interrogated at various levels to ascertain the identity of the terrorist group. The terrorist group is believed to have been active in the area for over a year.

NIA visited the spot

A team of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) visited the spot and inspected the area and the vehicle that was attacked. The entire area has been cordoned off and drones and sniffer dogs are being used to find the terrorists.

Poonch attack was carried out by three to four terrorists

It is being told that a group of three to four terrorists carried out the Poonch attack and they used some explosive, bomb or grenade, which set the vehicle on fire. It is being told that the perpetrators of the attack were present in Rajouri and Poonch for more than a year and had full knowledge about this remote area. This area is a stronghold of the Jammu and Kashmir Ghaznavi Force (JKGF) and its ‘commander’ Rafiq Ahmed alias Rafiq Nai is a resident of this area.

Strict vigil is being maintained along the Line of Control and traffic has been stopped on Bhimber Gali-Poonch road and people have been advised to go to Poonch via Mendhar.

These soldiers were martyred in Poonch terror attack

The martyred soldiers have been identified as Havaldar Mandeep Singh, Lance Naik Debashish Baswal, Lance Naik Kulwant Singh, Sepoy Harkrishna Singh and Sepoy Sevak Singh.
