Politics heated up over reduction in holidays from Rakhi to Chhath in government schools of Bihar, BJP attacked

Bihar Education Department has declared a new holiday table, making partial amendments to the holidays already announced in the government schools of the state. Under this order effective from September 6, now there will be only 11 holidays till December. There are also three Sundays in these. Changes in the holidays have been made following the instructions of Additional Chief Secretary KK Pathak and the information issued in this regard by the Director of Secondary Education. At the same time, politics has heated up in Bihar on this issue. BJP leader and Union Minister Giriraj Singh, BJP State President Samrat Chaudhary, Rajya Sabha member Sushil Kumar Modi have become attackers on the state government.

Holidays reduced in schools

Under the new order of the Education Department, now the holidays of Guru Nanak Jayanti and Kartik Purnima on 27th November, Jivitputrika Vrat on 6th October, Hartalika Teej on 18th and 19th September and Janmashtami on 7th September have been canceled in government schools. There will be studies in school during all these days. Under the new order, Chehallum’s holiday will now be on September 6. Anant Chaturdashi/Hazrat Mohammad Saheb’s birthday holiday will be on 28th September. Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti holiday as usual on 2nd October, Durga Puja holiday from 22nd to 24th October, Diwali holiday on 12th November, Chitragupta/Bhaiyya Dooj holiday on 15th November, Chhath Puja holiday on 19th-20th November and Christmas Day holiday as usual. Has been announced on 25th December.

Giriraj Singh said- It is possible that Sharia may be implemented

Bihar government has come under the target of BJP after cutting holidays on Hindu festivals in schools. Union Minister Giriraj Singh has made a strong attack by tweeting. He said that the holidays of Durga Puja, Diwali and Chhath Puja have been canceled by the Education Department of Bihar Government. Tomorrow it is possible that Sharia will be implemented in Bihar and there will be a ban on celebrating Hindu festivals.

BJP State President Samrat Chowdhary also became the attacker

On this issue, BJP State President Samrat Chaudhary has tweeted and said that this arrogant government of Bihar is continuously doing politics of appeasement. The uncle-nephew government does not desist from hurting the sentiments of Hindus. Bihar government is putting pressure on teachers not to go on leave. Now the order has gone out that 14 holidays have been cancelled. So now in Bihar can’t Hindus even celebrate their religious festivals? Apart from Diwali, Durga Puja, the holidays of Mahaparva Chhath have also been curtailed. This is very unfortunate and unacceptable. The people of Bihar will give a befitting reply to the proponents of appeasement politics in 2024 and 2025. The government should withdraw this decision immediately.

Sushil Modi demanded withdrawal of the decision

Former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar and Rajya Sabha member Sushil Kumar Modi termed this decision of the Education Department as a reflection of anti-Hindu mentality and asked why Chhath Puja, Durga Puja and Janmashtami were cancelled. Chhath is celebrated in every house of Bihar. In such a situation, if schools open on these festivals, which child will go to school? He said that the holidays of Mohammad Saheb’s birthday and Chehallum are the same as before and should remain so. I am in his favor. He also attacked the lesson of Additional Chief Secretary of the Education Department. Sushil Modi said that the Principal Secretary of Education Department is engaged in tarnishing the image of Bihar with his outrageous antics. Sushil Modi said that the government should immediately withdraw its decision.

Such reduction in holidays

According to the revised holiday table, earlier the Education Department had declared the holiday of Deepawali, Chitragupta Puja / Bhaiyaduj and Chhath Puja from 13 to 21 November. There was a total holiday of nine days. It is divided into two parts. The holidays of Chitragupta Puja and Bhaiya Dooj have been separated. Its holiday is one day. From Diwali to Chhath Puja, there will be four days holiday instead of nine days holiday. Earlier Durga Puja and Shri Krishna Jayanti were announced from 19 to 24 October. Now there will be only three days holiday between 22nd and 24th October.

Holidays may change

In the information issued by the Director of Secondary Education, it has been made clear that the holidays may change depending on the sighting of the moon. If there are special circumstances in any district, then the District Education Officer of that district can declare a holiday after taking prior permission from the department.
