Mumbai Police informed the media that the said person had called the police and asked them to increase the security of Ratan Tata otherwise he too would meet the same fate as Cyrus Mistry, the former chairman of Tata Sons. It is noteworthy that Cyrus Mistry died in a car accident on September 4, 2022.
Help taken from telecom companies
As soon as the call was received, Mumbai Police came into full alert mode and Ratan Tata’s security was increased by forming a special team. At the same time, the police was searching on a war footing for the person who had called the police and threatened Ratan Tata. With the help of telecom companies, the police had arrested the person who had issued threats over the phone.
The person making the threat is from Pune
Police told the media that the caller’s location was found to be in Karnataka. Although that person is a resident of Pune. When the police reached his house in Pune, they found out that he was missing for four-five days and his wife had also lodged a missing report. His wife told that along with MBA, the accused has also studied engineering. It was only the family members who informed that he was suffering from schizophrenia and the phone from which he had called was not his. He asked for a phone call from someone and called the Mumbai Police control room regarding Ratan Tata and threatened him.
No action will be taken against the accused
The police officer said that since the person calling is suffering from schizophrenia, no legal action will be taken against him. Schizophrenia is a mental illness in which a person lives in a world of imagination and has nothing to do with reality. His thinking and understanding power gets badly affected in this disease.
