Police and CID caught liquor worth one crore in Hajipur, villagers looted chips and crisps, two arrested

In Hajipur, liquor was being smuggled in trucks on a large scale by hiding it behind crisps and chips. Which was recovered by the police of Industrial Station from near the nipper of the police station area. 946 cartons of foreign liquor were kept behind the chips and peanuts in the truck. Police has taken this action on the basis of information received from CID Patna. While on one hand a huge quantity of liquor was being seized by the police, on the other hand, seeing the opportunity, some people took away packets of crisps and chips.

In this police action, the driver and helper of the truck have also been arrested from the spot. The value of the recovered liquor is said to be around Rs 1 crore in the local market. The police is busy identifying the businessmen in this case.

Action on information of CID Patna

According to the information, late on Monday night, the Industrial Police Station had received information from CID Patna officials that a large consignment of liquor loaded on a truck had reached the Nipper of the police station area. Which is going towards Jandaha. As soon as the information was received, SHO of Industrial Police Station Sanjeev Kumar had reached the spot with the police force when CID officials also reached the spot.

Driver and helper arrested

Police and CID jointly raided the truck present at the spot and found out that the truck was loaded with liquor. Meanwhile, the driver and helper of the truck who were eating food were also arrested by the police from the spot. Police seized the truck and brought it to the police station.

8367.06 liters of foreign liquor recovered

The station in-charge said that a total of 8367.06 liters of foreign liquor was recovered from 946 cartons from the truck. The driver of the arrested truck has been identified as Baldev Singh, resident of Rajasthan and the helper has been identified as Gurmit Singh.

Police busy in identifying businessmen

During interrogation, the driver told that he only had to deliver the truck to the nipper. The CID officers present on the spot and the Industrial Police Station police are busy in identifying the local businessmen and registering an FIR.
