PM Modi will gift Rs 30,500 crore to Maharashtra, will inaugurate these projects including Atal Setu

PM Modi in Maharashtra: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the 27th National Youth Festival in Nashik, Maharashtra on Friday and then launch development projects worth more than Rs 30,500 crore in the state. In line with his vision to promote ease of movement of people by strengthening urban transport infrastructure and connectivity, Modi will inaugurate the Mumbai Trans-Harbour Link (MTHL), now known as ‘Atal Bihari Vajpayee Sewri-‘ an official statement said. It has been named ‘Nhava Sheva Atal Setu’. It has been constructed at a cost of more than Rs 17,840 crore.

The foundation stone of this bridge was laid in 2016

Narendra Modi had laid the foundation stone of this bridge in December 2016. It is also the longest bridge in India and the longest sea bridge in India. This bridge is about 21.8 km long six-lane bridge, whose length is about 16.5 km on the sea and about 5.5 km on land. It will provide direct connectivity to Mumbai International Airport and Navi Mumbai International Airport and will also reduce travel time from Mumbai to Pune, Goa and South India. The statement said that this will also improve connectivity between Mumbai Port and Jawaharlal Nehru Port.

Will also lay the foundation stone of the road tunnel connecting to Marine Drive

Prime Minister Modi will also lay the foundation stone of the road tunnel connecting ‘Eastern Freeways Orange Gate’ to Marine Drive. The 9.2 km long tunnel will be built at a cost of over Rs 8,700 crore and will be a significant infrastructure development in Mumbai. He will also dedicate the first phase of Surya Regional Drinking Water Project to the nation. Developed at a cost of over Rs 1,975 crore, the project will provide drinking water supply to Palghar and Thane districts of Maharashtra, benefiting approximately 14 lakh people.

Many railway projects also launched

PM Narendra Modi will also inaugurate many railway projects. He will inaugurate the ‘Bharat Ratnam’ (Mega Common Facilitation Centre) for ‘Santa Cruz Electronics Export Processing Zone’- Special Economic Zone (SEEPZ). It will have a training school for skill development of the workforce in this sector, including students with special disabilities. The ‘Mega Common Facilitation Centre’ will transform the export sector in gems and jewelery trade and will also help domestic manufacturing.
