Pitru Paksha: On the fourth day of the 17-day Pitru Paksha fair, the rituals of Pind Daan, Shraddha Karma and Tarpan were completed in Panchtirtha.

On the fourth day of the 17-day Pitru Paksha fair in Gaya, Bihar, there is a tradition of offering Pind Daan, Shraddha and Tarpan in Panchtirtha. After this, Lord Gadadhar ji is given Panchamrit bath. It is believed that the ritual of Pind Daan becomes futile for the devotees who do not take Panchamrit bath to Lord Gadadhar Ji. Under this tradition and belief, on Sunday, thousands of devotees from different states of the country performed the rituals of Pind Daan, Shraddha and Tarpan at the Panchtirtha altar places under the direction of their clan Panda, wishing for their ancestors to attain Surya and heaven. There is a religious and mythological belief that the ancestors who perform Panchatirtha Shraddha attain the sun and heaven.

At the same time, all the wishes of the devotees who perform Shraddha at these altar places are fulfilled. Under the legislation, there are North Manas Vedi located in Pitamaheshwar Mohalla of the city and Suryakund, Udichi, Kankhal, and Jivalol Vedi near Vishnupad located in the southern area of ​​the city. There is a tradition of offering Pind Daan, Shraddha Karma and Tarpan on the fourth day of Tripakshika Shraddha at these five altar places. Dhami Panda Bhavani Pandey, Uday Pandey told that the ancestors of the devotees who offer Pind Daan at these five altar places attain the sun and heaven. At the same time, happiness and prosperity reside in the homes of the devotees who perform the ritual of Pind Daan and all their wishes are fulfilled. He told that in Panchatirtha Shraddha, first of all there is a provision for the ritual of Pind Daan at Uttar Manas Vedi.

After completing this ritual, the devotees remain silent and reach the Dakshin Manas altar. After this, the ritual of Pind Daan is performed on the altar of Dakshin Manas i.e. Suryakund, Udichi, Kankhal and Jivalol. He told that under the law, all the devotees who perform Pind Daan, Shraddha and Tarpan at the Panch Teerth Vidhi sites, worshiped Lord Gadadhar ji at Vishnu Pad by taking bath in Panchamrit. By doing this the devotees get the desired results. On the fifth day of the 17-day fair, there are rituals for Saraswati Snan, Pancharatna Daan, Matangvapi Shraddha, Shraddha in the middle of Dharmaranya well and Buddhist darshan at Bodh Gaya.

DM said- use only the southern exit of Vishnupad

On the occasion of Pitru Paksha fair, for the convenience of the pilgrims coming from India and abroad, DM Dr. Thyagarajan and SSP Ashish Bharti jointly conducted a walking inspection from Chandchaura to Vishnupad temple on Sunday. Magistrates and police officers present in all the nearby camps and roads were instructed to do proper duty. He also instructed the pilgrims roaming around to keep getting information about their problems. DM and SSP reached the sanctum sanctorum of Vishnupad temple and made the pilgrims queue up near the sixteen altars. Also, instructions were given to ensure regular cleaning to avoid slipping.

He instructed the zonal magistrate to keep essential medicines available in the medical camp. To evacuate the pilgrims coming to the temple after the puja, they should in all cases use the south side exit only to evacuate the crowd. During this, DM and SSP inspected the CCTV control point installed in the temporary police station near Vishnupad. While inspecting, the DM and SSP reached Pitamaheshwar and the group of pilgrims from Telangana and Amravati thanked the DM and SSP and appreciated the arrangements made for the Pitru Paksha.
