Pitru Paksha 2023: Shraddha rituals are performed in Pitru Paksha for the peace of the ancestors’ souls. This is known as Pitru Paksha. Pinda Daan and Tarpan are done for the peace of our ancestors. Pitru Paksha lasts for 16 days.

Donation of silver – It is said in the scriptures that donating silver during Pitru Paksha gives auspicious results. It is believed that on the date on which you are performing Shraddha, you should donate a silver item to a Brahmin. If you are not able to donate on that day, you can donate any silver item to a Brahmin on Sarva Pitru Amavasya. Silver is related to the planet Moon. Therefore, by donating silver, Chandradev’s blessings are showered.
