Pitru Shraddha Vidhan-Panchami Tithi: Ashwins, who perform three-party Shraddha, first perform Shraddha in Vishnupad on Krishna Paksha Panchami Tithi i.e. the sixth day of Pitripaksha. When Bhishma Pitamah Gayaji came to perform Shraddha and after meditating his ancestors, got ready to offer Pinda, similarly his father Shantanu lost both his hands. Instead of giving a pinda on his hand, Bhishma gave a pinda on the feet of Vishnu. Satisfied, Shantanu said that you are steadfast in your studies. The vision should be for three times and in the end one attains the world of Vishnu.
By seeing Vishnupad, sins are destroyed, by touching and worshiping them the ancestors attain Akshaya Lok. There are 19 Tirthas in the Vishnupad temple complex, people perform Shraddha in those Tirthas from Panchami to Ashtami. In all these pilgrimages, start from any one of these four pilgrimages – Kashyap Pad, Vishnu Pad, Rudra Pad, Brahma Pad and end from any one. Like if you start with Vishnu Pad, then finish with Kashyap Pad. Offer only milk at Gaj Karna Pad. By performing Shraddha on Rudra Pada, the family ancestors attain Rudra Pada.

When Lord Shri Ram was ready to perform Rudra Pad Shraddha, Maharaj Dashrath appeared from heaven with his hands extended. But Shri Ram did not give Pind in his hand but gave it to Rudra. Fearing the encroachment of the scriptures, Maharaj Dashrath said to Shri Ram – O son, you have given us a telegram, now we will attain Rudra Lok. Giving a body in our hands does not help us go to heaven. You will rule for a long time, take care of the people and Brahmins, perform a lot of Dakshina yagyas and go to Vishnu Lok along with the people and insects of Ayodhyapuri. Saying this, Dasharatha ji went to Rudra Lok. After this, complete the rituals of the sixth day by performing Shraddha on Brahma Pad, Dakshinagni Pad, Garhpatyagni Pad.

Keeping in mind the devotees coming to the Pitru Paksha Mela area, a tent city has been set up at Gandhi Maidan. Late on Sunday night, DM Dr. Thiagarajan reached the tent city and took feedback from the passengers staying there. He interacted with about 200 pilgrims. The tent city has been prepared keeping in mind every facility for the pilgrims.
Pilgrims are also enjoying Bhajan Kirtan here in the evening. Also availing the benefit of free food every evening. Ganga water is also being provided for drinking purposes to the pilgrims in the tent city. DM said that this time there is arrangement for accommodation of 2500 people in the tent city. Feedback is being continuously taken from the staying passengers. People look very happy. They seem quite satisfied with the arrangements. A total of 1282 passengers stayed in the tent city from 9 pm on October 1 to 6 am on October 2. In this, 295 pilgrims are staying in tent pandal number one, 280 pilgrims in pandal number two, 210 pilgrims in pandal number three and 433 pilgrims are staying in pandal number four.
By offering Pind Daan on the Tritiya of Pitru Paksha at Pindvedi Dharmaranya and Matangvapi located in Bodh Gaya, the Pind Daanis wished to liberate the souls of their ancestors. Before this, most of the Pind Daanis offered tarpan in the river near the Saraswati temple situated on the banks of the river mouth. On Monday, more than 30 thousand Pind Daanis performed Pind Daan in Dharmaranya and Matangvapi and during this, they prayed for the peace of the souls of their ancestors by offering Pinda in the Yagya well located at Dharmaranya and the souls of the dead were prayed for by offering coconut and other materials in the nearby ghost well. Gave him freedom from ghostly obstacles. Apart from the Dharmaranya temple complex, the rituals of Pinchhaan were also performed in the surrounding grounds, while the devotees offered tarpan in the river Muhane flowing nearby. Similarly, in Matangvapi, the process of Pind Daan was completed in the temple premises as well as on the outer platform.
The Pind Daanis offered tarpan in the lake situated here and the process of Pind Daan was also completed. Along with this, the process of Tarpan was also completed in the Saraswati temple complex along with Pind Daan in the strong stream of water flowing in the river. The Acharyas performing the rituals in the Dharmaranya temple told that after the Mahabharata war, Dharmaraja Yudhishthir had performed a Yagya here and got freedom from the evil spirits and ancestral evils of Abhimanyu, the son of Abhimanyu who died in the womb of Utara, who later came to be known as King Parikshit. Dharmaraj Yudhishthir also performed Pind Daan and Tripindi Shraddha for this. It was told that in Dharmaranya there is a tradition to perform Tripindi Shraddha to liberate the souls of ancestors and family members from ghosts. Apart from Pitru Paksha, people come here throughout the year to perform Tripindi Shraddha.
