Pitru Paksha Fair will be held from 29th September in the holy land of Gaya, the land of knowledge and salvation. Preparations for this are going on in full swing. This year, many new facilities will be provided by the Shri Vishnupad Management Committee to the pilgrims coming to donate Pind. This step is being taken by the committee after learning from the problems faced by the pilgrims during the fair held last year.

The third door is ready for exit from the temple

To control the crowd in the temple courtyard, a separate 10 feet wide exit has been built, the construction work of which is almost completed. Now only the door is left to be decorated. A separate shield has also been made at this new exit gate for the disabled to travel. Apart from this, the rough ground at the northern entrance of the temple is being repaired.

Shed being built on the roof of Shrilakshmi-Narayan restaurant

A shed is being built on the roof of Sri Lakshmi-Narayan Bhojanalaya operating in the temple premises with the help of a pilgrim from Kolkata. A few days ago, to beautify the temple, a pilgrim from Kolkata donated a silver umbrella, which has been installed under the big umbrella already hanging over the foot of Lord Shri Vishnu.

20 additional employees will be deployed for law and order

Apart from the regular employees, it has been decided to deploy 20 additional employees and also increase the number of CCTV cameras for the convenience and assistance of the pilgrims during the Pitru Paksha Fair. At present 22 CCTV cameras are installed in the entire temple complex. A special action plan is being prepared by the committee for cleaning and arranging water for the entire temple complex.

There will be no ban on carrying mobile phones in Vishnupad temple premises

Carrying a mobile phone in the Vishnu Pad temple premises and sanctum sanctorum is prohibited throughout the years. For the safety of the mobile phones of the devotees, about two hundred lockers have been made by the committee. Devotees keep mobile phones in these lockers for a fee of Rs.10. Last year this rule was also applicable in the Pitrupaksha fair, but due to the inconvenience caused to the pilgrims due to less number of lockers in comparison to the pilgrims, this rule has been changed during the Pitrupaksha fair to be organized by the committee this time. This time the pilgrims coming from India and abroad will also be able to take mobile phones to the temple premises.

Regular cleaning of the pond made for pouring Pind at Devghat is necessary.

The chairman of the committee, Shambhu Lal Vittal, said that arrangements have not been made for the cleaning of the dykes which have been made at the administrative level to pour bodies at Devghat to maintain the cleanliness of Falgu river and Gayaji dam. On normal days the number of pilgrims reaches hundreds. But in Pitrupaksha fair, their number crosses the figure of thousands every day. In such a situation, cleaning the naad daily is necessary. For this, it was necessary to have a drain-like exit from the lower part of the tap and nad. Because of these workers, it will not be possible to keep the sound clean. However, he said that if this arrangement is not made, then banners and posters will be put up at various places for awareness, in which there will be a request to put the pind in the Naad itself.
