The Kosi river is in spate due to the rains in Nepal. Flood situation has been created in Supaul. Kosi water has entered the villages. Due to which people are now forced to migrate.
The discharge of Kosi river has reached 4 lakh 14 thousand cusecs on Friday. Its maximum effect was seen in the villages situated inside the East Kosi embankment. Due to the unexpected rise in the water level, water entered every house. Due to which a situation of chaos was created. People started migrating to higher places for the safety of life and property.
Due to the increase in the water level of Kosi river once again, the life of the people living on the banks of the embankment is being cut off with the help of boats. Khokhnaha village of Sisouni, Jobaha and Ghoghararia panchayats of the block is completely surrounded by water. Boat is the only means left for people to leave their homes.
The paddy crop has been completely submerged due to the increase in the water level of the river. At the same time, due to accumulation of water in the courtyard of the houses of Ward 10, 11, 12, 13 and 14 of Sisauni Panchayat, the wall made of mud has started breaking. The women of the house are also facing a lot of difficulties in cooking.
Residents of flood-affected areas Chhatauni, Parsahi, Dubiyahi, Chaudeep villages are facing various kinds of problems.
When the water entered the residential areas, the problem increased among the cattle rearers regarding the fodder for the cattle. Despite this, many people are not yet going towards the higher ground.
Flood shelters have been constructed in Satanpatti, Piprahi and Sahevan for the flood-affected people a decade ago at a cost of 01 crore 35 lakhs. But due to lack of proper care, this shelter has become dilapidated. People are keeping firewood in it. At the same time, many cattle rearers have made it a shelter for their animals. On which the administration is not keeping an eye.
