PHOTOS: Jharkhand’s famous Mudma Jatra from October 30, BJP state president Babulal Marandi will inaugurate

The two-day Mudma Jatra organized in Mandar block of Ranchi district is all set to welcome the people. This two-day fair will formally start on 30th October after the worship of Shakti Khunta located at the Jatra site by 40 Padha’s Pahan Pujars and religious leaders under the leadership of Sarna religious leader Bandhan Tigga. Former Chief Minister of Jharkhand and BJP State President Babulal Marandi will attend the inauguration ceremony of Jatra as the chief guest. A huge crowd gathers in this 24-hour Jatra that takes place throughout the day and night.

Apart from various states of the country, people from Nepal also participate in Jatra. The administration has made elaborate arrangements for the crowd attending the Jatra. To maintain peace and law and order at the fair site, a sufficient number of magistrates and male and female police forces have been deployed. To keep an eye on every corner of Jatra, 15 watch towers have been built and CCTV cameras have been installed at each special spot. Here surveillance will also be maintained through drone cameras.

Religious leader Bandhan Tigga told that 2 thousand of his volunteers will be present in the Jatra to support the administration in every way. The main attraction of this Jatra, imbued with the tradition and culture of the tribals, is on the concluding day. When 40 Padha people come to participate in the Jatra, dancing and singing with their traditional Padha signs, Rampa Champa, wooden elephants, horses, crocodiles, fish, kandsa and flags.

Rural SP Manish Toppo and other officials had reached the Jatra site on Sunday to take stock of the administration’s preparations for the Jatra. The Rural SP took stock of the control room and other arrangements and held a meeting with the officials and personnel deputed at the Jatra and gave necessary guidelines regarding the maintenance of law and order at the Jatra site.

To keep the traffic system smooth during the two-day Mudma Jatra, the administration will divert the routes of vehicles on NH 75. It was told that all the vehicles coming from Lohardaga side will go towards Ranchi via Tangerbasli turn via Bedo and all the vehicles coming from Ranchi side will go towards their destination via Kathitand via Thakurgaon.
