Before building the fort, Madho Singh sought permission from an ascetic. Where the ascetic laid down a condition that the shadow of the fort should never fall on his hut. However, Madho Singh’s successor Ajab Singh ignored this condition and built a fort with strong walls but the shadow of that palace fell on the ascetic’s hut. After which the ascetic got angry and cursed the entire Bhangarh. After this, there was a huge war here and all the people were killed, after which this place became cursed. People are prohibited from going here after evening.
