A huge crowd was seen at Patna Junction on Thursday. From here, trains going from Mumbai, Delhi, Chhattisgarh to Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand were most crowded. There was no space to even step foot in Delhi bound trains like Brahmaputra Mail, Vikramshila, Shramjeevi etc. which came on platform number four.
Sleeper coach converted into general compartment
Due to the sudden increase in crowd after the passing of Holi, the general compartments of the respective trains were seen jam-packed with passengers, those who did not get space to board the general compartments boarded the sleeper coaches along with their families. Some even occupied the seats of passengers who had made booking. Due to this there was a lot of chatter among the passengers. The passengers sitting in the train appealed to the other passengers already sitting in the coach and said that how will they be able to enter the crowd with small children, so they will travel sitting down here.

No seat was seen vacant in the general compartment, so some passengers somehow settled in the luggage storage area. Those who arrived late secured their seats by tying sheets and towels over two seats and making a swing-like arrangement for themselves. There was so much crowd in the trains that when there was no space to enter through the door, many entered through the emergency window. Those who did not get a place camped near the toilet and sat there.
