To connect such acid survivors with the mainstream of the society, Shribhoomi Cultural Association of Music has taken a unique initiative this time during Durga Puja. President of this organization Swapnendu Dev and Secretary Aritra Banerjee said that if seen, acid survivors are the true Durga.
With the help of Aparajita Ganguly, Kolkata head of Brave Souls organization, some acid survivors were selected as judges of the puja pandal. By presenting women as judges, an attempt has been made to give a message to the society that they are also a part of the society and have the right to live with dignity.
