New Delhi : Tata Motors is best known for its affordable, beautiful and durable vehicles. The brand has recently launched two new variants. This includes the XM and XM(S). The new XM(S) variant makes the Altroz the most affordable premium hatchback to come with an electric sunroof. Tata Altroz XM (S)’s ex-showroom Delhi price is Rs 7.35 lakh. The new XM (S) is the model between the XM and XM Plus variants of Tata Motors. The new variant comes with the same features as the XM and an electric sunroof has also been added to it. It costs around Rs 45,000 more than the XM trim.
Tata Altroz Exterior Design
Tata Altroz looks like a car with low overhang. The front grille and tailgate get a glossy black finish. Its design is easily recognizable due to the black grille and sharp headlights. It gets low floor clearance and the doors open up to 90 degrees, allowing the rear door to open easily for entry. The top end XZ variant comes with dual tone roof option, alloy wheels and daytime running lights. The car measures 3990 mm in length, has a wheelbase of 2501 mm and height of 1523 mm.
Tata Altroz cabin comfort and interior design
Cabin amenities include automatic atmosphere control system with interior lighting, rear AC vents and auto wipers. Apart from this, the Altroz has a 7-inch floating Harman multimedia touchscreen with Bluetooth and USB connectivity and a rear reverse camera. The driver’s seat is height adjustable and the rear seat gets rear headrest adjustment facility. Due to this, the interior appears quite large. Speed gearbox provides smooth gearshifts. It has been given 350 mm big boot space.
Tata Altroz Engine & Speed
The petrol and diesel models of the Altroz are available in 31 variants, powered by the same 1.2L petrol engine with a 3-cylinder unit producing 80hp power and 115Nm of peak torque like the Tiago. Whereas, the 1500 cc diesel engine variants generate 90 hp power with 4 cylinder unit and 200 Nm torque with turbo lag. Both the engines are BS VI compliant. Out of the two drive modes available in the Altroz, the city mode is better for good mileage as compared to the economy mode.
Safety Features and Price
Tata Altroz with its dual airbags meets the safety requirements of the Indian roads. The car gets disc at the front and drum at the rear. Tata Altroz price starts at Rs. 5.44 Lakh and goes up to Rs. 9.63 Lakh (ex-showroom). Tata Altroz comes in 22 variants. The top-end variant of Tata Altroz costs Rs 9.56 Lakh.
