Giving information to all the concerned officials, he has told that in violation of the norms fixed for the manufacture of number plates in the districts, numbers are being written on motor registration plates at the local level. In Rule-50 and 51 of the Central Motor Vehicle Rules, 1989, a provision has been made regarding HSRP and all vehicle owners are required to install HSRP on their vehicles as per the prescribed provision. Driving vehicles without HSRP on the roads will be considered as a violation of Section-177 and Section-179 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 and action will be taken against such vehicles and vehicle owners by the Transport Department.
