Massive fire broke out near Raj Bhavan in Kolkata.

Kolkata, Vikas Kumar Gupta. A massive fire broke out in a multi-storey building near the Raj Bhavan in central Kolkata, creating panic in the area for a long time. The four-storey building where the fire broke out is a commercial building. Apart from the branch of a nationalized bank, there are offices of many other companies in it. A canteen was built in a temporary shed on the roof of the third floor.

The fire broke out in the canteen located on the roof of the house.

At 10 in the morning, with the sound of a loud explosion in the cylinder, flames started coming out from there. After this people got the inkling of fire. Within no time, the entire area was filled with black smoke. The incident took place near the Raj Bhavan. As soon as the news was received, Governor CV Anand Bose left the Raj Bhavan and came to the spot.

The cause of the fire is not yet known.

Seeing the magnitude of the fire, firefighters along with 15 fire engines reached there and started trying to douse the fire. After about three hours of effort, the fire was completely brought under control.

The building is very near to the Raj Bhavan.

Governor CV Anand Bose stayed there for about an hour. He said that 3 people have received minor injuries in extinguishing the fire. Firefighters have made best efforts to control the fire, due to which the fire could not take a frightening shape.

On getting the news, the Chief Minister of the state Mamta Banerjee also reached. He said that there was a very small fire. I congratulate the firemen for doing a great job. There has been no major loss in this fire.

There are two versions of how the fire started. Some are saying that the fire broke out due to cylinder burst, while on the other hand it is also being said that the fire started due to short circuit. It is difficult to say anything in this regard right now. The forensic department team will visit the spot to find out the reasons.
