In India’s electric vehicle market, Ather Energy has launched the new electric scooter 450S in the electric vehicle market on 11 August 2023. It is expected to come as the most affordable electric scooter from Ather Energy and will compete with rivals like Ola S1 Air. The S1 Air is the most affordable electric scooter from Ola Electric and is all set to be launched on 15th August. With the launch of the Ather 450S, Ather Energy aims to capture a major share of the Indian electric two-wheeler market.
Ather Energy has already revealed the price of the upcoming electric scooter. Along with this, the top speed and range of Ather’s upcoming entry-level scooter has also been revealed. The EV startup has started accepting bookings for the scooter across India. The Ather 450S is expected to follow the same styling as the electric startup’s 450X. Sporty and sharp styling has been one of the major USPs of the Ather scooter and the EV maker will continue with the same.

The Ather 450S will get the same curvy front cowl with sporty looking LED headlamps, sleek turn indicators, inverted C-shaped LED taillight, sporty black alloy wheels etc. The instrument cluster of the new Ather 450S will be a non-touch LCD display as compared to the full touchscreen display of the 450X. The 450S is expected to have some navigational differences as compared to the navigational system on the 450X.

The electric vehicle startup’s website states that the upcoming 450S is expected to be equipped with a smaller 2.9 kWh battery pack as compared to the 3.7 kWh battery pack of the Ather 450X, which will allow it to go up to 115 km range. Along with this, this battery will allow the scooter to run at a top speed of 90 kmph.
Ather 405 S Price
Electric vehicle manufacturer Ather Energy announced on 29 July 2023 that it has started accepting pre-bookings for its new electric scooter 450S. The company has said that the pre-booking amount of 405S electric scooter is Rs 2,500 and it is fully refundable. The Ather 450S will be positioned below the 450X that was introduced earlier in the market. The Ather 405S will become the most affordable electric scooter in the company’s portfolio in the market. Along with this, Ather has also announced that the 450S will be priced at Rs. 1.3 lakhs, ex-showroom. However, this initial price has been set by the company.
405S Speed
Now if we talk about the speed of Ather Energy’s new scooter, its top speed is 90 kmph and IDC range is 115 km. In addition to this, the scooter will get an LCD screen instead of the touchscreen TFT unit that is also offered on the 450X. However, this scooter will be more affordable than the 450X. The unit of the 405S is very simple and has a colored and simple display. It will not be equipped with Google Maps navigation and document storage features. It is not yet clear whether the scooter will feature Bluetooth connectivity or not.

The top speed of the Ather 405S is the same as that of the 450X. The 405S is expected to share the electric motor with the 450X. The motor generates maximum power of 6.4 kW or 8.58 Bhp and maximum torque output is rated at 26 Nm. The battery pack in the 450X is 3.7 kWh and IDC claims a range of 146 km. The Electric Scooter 405S is rated for an IDC range of 115 km., The battery pack is expected to be around 3 kWh rated capacity.
