PHED will look after the maintenance of water supply schemes, the work will be handed over in October

Patna. PHED will get the responsibility of all urban and rural water supply schemes across the state by October. Following the guidelines of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, the process of handing over 65,355 schemes of Panchayati Raj Department to PHED has started. At the same time, next month, there will be a meeting of PHED, Panchayati Raj Department and Urban Development and Housing Department under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary, after which the process of transfer of water supply schemes of urban development will start and only PHED water supply scheme in Bihar will be taken up for maintenance and repair. Will work to implement the plan.

PHED will increase the strength, department engaged in creation of posts

PHED had less manpower as per the sanctioned post. On the other hand, after the increase in the work of two new departments, the department has started working on creation of posts, so that there will be no problem in maintenance of water supply and implementation of new schemes. According to PHED, when there are 1000 posts of assistant engineer and 1500 posts of junior engineer, the monitoring of the scheme will be done better. On the other hand, a departmental meeting has been held regarding the creation of new posts for tube well cum plumbing 3000, work inspector 1776, electrician cum mechanic 700, helper 4363 and attendant 400 posts.

The scheme will reach more than 1100 new tolls

It has been found in the survey across the state that work will have to be done to reach the scheme in more than 11 hundred new tolls. After the report, instructions have been given to the concerned districts, so that tap water can reach every house in these tolls soon. At the same time, instructions have been given to the officials to identify the missing houses, so that all the missing houses can be linked to the scheme.

70 percent Panchayati Raj scheme transferred

According to PHED, 70 percent schemes of Panchayati Raj Department have been transferred. Transfer of rest of the schemes will be done after site inspection. Instructions have been given to the districts regarding this. Along with this, departmental action has been directed to mark the officers who were negligent in the transfer of the scheme.
